Please support the Shambhala Archives in its efforts of digitize and restore photographs of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche, other teachers, family and friends who have taught or participated in the Shambhala mandala over the years.

Why?

Because the Shambhala Archives has 50,000 photographs of Chögyam Trungpa Rinpoche, Sakyong Mipham Rinpoche and other great dharma teachers. While a small number of these photos have been digitized (10–15%) and a smaller number have been restored the vast majority have not. It is essential that we begin the process of digitizing and restoring so that we do not lose these pictorial treasures.

How!

To help you visualize how we do this we have created this short video, “Photo Path of Restoration”. It is just 3 minutes long and shows you you the process of digitizing and restoring photos. It is fun to watch and you will see some new photos as well as a few well known and loved ones. We are confident that you will enjoy this video.

Note to Photographers - Our standard practice is to digitize and clean photos. Cropping or other changes will not happen without your permission.

Last Year's Fundraiser

Video Digitization and Restoration

Last year we fundraised so we could begin our video digitization and restoration project; a long term project that will go on for years. We are happy to tell you that we have made considerable progress on that path and are happy with our accomplishment so far. Watch for more news on this in the Shambhala Archives newsletter you will be receiving in the next month or so.

You can still watch last years video Path of Restoration which will help you visualize what it means to digitize and restore old videos. And you will see some sweet glimpses of our perfect teachers.

Donations by cheque can be made out to Shambhala Archives and mailed to 1084 Tower Road, Halifax, NS, B3H 2Y5, Canada.
